Servant Development Purpose Team

The Servant Development Purpose Team includes the ministries that are involved in the formation and education of our youth and of those seeking to deepen their faith commitment. They include:

Baptismal Preparation
This ministry prepares parents and godparents for the Sacrament of Baptism. In addition, members assist clergy at Baptisms.

Bible Study
St. Patrick's Parish offers two Bible study programs per year, usually beginning in September and January. Participants purchase a text, commentary and study guide, spend approximately 30 minutes a day prayerfully reading and answering the questions of the day from the study guide. At the end of the week, participants further their understanding of Holy Scripture through prayer and discussion.

Families of Nazareth
Families of Nazareth deepen their relationship with God by building a personal communion with Christ through the Blessed Mother. This group meets on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. to share different experiences of faith and to discover God’s presence in their lives.

Marriage Preparation
This ministry prepares couples for the Sacrament of Marriage, as required by the Archdiocese of Toronto. In seven sessions topics such as Readiness for Marriage, Communication, Conflict Resolution and Forgiveness, Intimacy and Fertility Care are presented.

R.C.I.A. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
R.C.I.A. welcomes people who feel the call of God to join the Catholic Church. Weekly sessions run from September to May and include an examination of scripture, prayer, faith sharing and presentations on the mysteries of our faith. Baptized Catholics are encouraged to participate as sponsors as well.

Women’s Ministry Network
St. Patrick’s Women’s Ministry Network aspires to bring women together in faith to grow spiritually; to challenge body, mind and soul; and to prepare to go forward with courage to love and serve the Lord and the community.

World Youth Day
A team of young people engage in formation and preparation to attend the next World Youth Day.
