Sacrament and Worship Purpose Team Ministries
The Sacrament and Worship Purpose Team includes those ministries committed to celebration of the Sacraments and weekly celebration of Mass: music, singing and choirs, reading of the Word, Eucharist, environment, hospitality and welcome. These ministries are:
Altar Clothes
Altar Servers
Boys and girls in grade three or older can assist the priest during Sunday Masses and weddings. Training is provided.
Children’s Liturgy
The Children’s Liturgy shares the readings of the week with children from junior kindergarten to grade 2 in a way to which they can relate. Just prior to the readings at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, children are accompanied to the small hall for their own Liturgy and return to Mass at the Offertory Procession.
Coffee Sunday
This ministry creates the opportunity for parishioners to experience fellowship over a cup of coffee immediately following the 8:00, 9:30, 11:00 and 12:30 Sunday Masses.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers present the body and blood of Christ to those who come to Holy Communion at all liturgies. Training is provided and Ministers contribute time on a rotating basis.
Fidelis Choir for Funeral Masses
The Fidelis Choir brings solace and peace, through music, to the bereaved family of the deceased. This allows the bereaved to mourn, to celebrate and to commemorate what they have lost. Members are often called upon with only one or two days notice.
Folk Ensemble at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass
This is a dedicated group of singers and musicians who believe that contemporary music in worship has brought a renewed sense of excitement and possibility to sung prayer. Rehearsals are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.
Lectors
Ministers of the Word contribute to liturgy by proclaiming the scripture readings and prayers of the faithful at each Mass. Their role is to engage the parish community in thoughtful reflection of the Word of God and the petitions for prayerful intentions of the Mass.
Liturgy Committee
The members of the liturgy committee meet regularly with the pastor to pray, to study and to consider ways to enable God’s people with their hearts, minds and voices, to offer God their thanks and praise. The committee is made up of the coordinators of the various liturgical ministries and some representatives from the parish assembly.
Parish Decorating Team
This team creates a welcoming worship space that reflects the Gospel message and engages parishioners in appreciation of the wonder of God’s creation. This may include decorative staging or displays that inspire reflective thought.
Praise and Worship This team provides "a personal relationship with Jesus through music." All are welcome to "come and see" Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament on the third Friday of each month. Reconciliation is offered at 6:30 pm, Praise and Worship begins at 7:30, Benediction at 8:15 with Adoration continuing until 8:45 pm.
Prayer Group
The Prayer Group praises and worships God through songs and spontaneous prayers. They meet every Wednesday at 7:30 pm to deepen their relationship with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am with them…” Matt. 18: 20
Schola Choir at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass
This group enhances participation of the assembly in song. Rehearsals are on Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. for all who love to sing.
St. Patrick’s Choir at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass
The St. Patrick’s Choir provides appropriate, traditional choral music. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Sunday School & Babysitting
These programs are offered during the 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. masses for children seven years of age and under.
Ushers
This ministry strives to improve the quality of Sunday worship by assisting the congregation before and during the Celebration. This is done by welcoming parishioners, guiding them to their seats and taking up the Sunday collection.
Wedding Rehearsal Coordinators
These coordinators assist couples as they prepare for their marriage ceremony. It includes assistance with the selection of readings, over-seeing the rehearsal and attending the wedding ceremony.
Youth Band at the 4:30 p.m. Sunday Mass, every other weekend
This group of young people brings vibrant enthusiasm to the worshipping assembly. Rehearsals are Mondays at 7:00 p.m.
