Scripture Studies

St. Patrick's scripture studies resume on Tuesday September 14 at 7:15 pm, and will run every Tuesday until November 16.  The cost is $30 and covers the text, commentary, study guide and binder for all handouts.

There are places still available for the prayerful study of Acts of the Apostles, the 5th book in the New Testament that chronicles the life of the early Church from Pentecost to the end of Paul's life in Rome.  This is considered a foundation course and is suitable for newcomers.

Many of you have possibly said to yourself, "I'd like to know more about Sacred Scripture," but often time, perceived complexity has inhibited you. We can assure you that ACTS is a great introductory course.

The program is fashioned with a daily reading of passages, reflection and answering questions, (about half an hour a day),  then gathering once a week in small and large groups to discuss the questions of the week.  Also, the group watches a 20 minute DVD/Video delivered by a Scripture scholar on the readings of the week.

We particularly encourage our lectors and Eucharistic ministers to take advantage of this course.  It will assist in the growth of Faith both in the Word of God in the Scriptures and the Word of God in the Eucharist.
