To Be Faithful Servants Walking God's Talk
Guest Speaker at the Women's Coffee Morning Book Club
On Tuesday, October 26 at 10:00 am the Women's coffee morning book club is thrilled to announce that the celebrated author and St. Patrick's parishioner Lorraine O'Donnell Williams will be a guest speaker at our meeting. Author of Memories of The Beach: Reflections on a Toronto Childhood (Dundurn Press April 2010), Lorraine Williams has published dozens of book reviews and travel articles for newspapers and magazines, including this one. Now she has a book which combines the history of a unique Toronto neighbourhood with her own memories of growing up Catholic in good, old Orange Toronto. The book has been #1 in the biography/memoirs section for both Ontario and the Prairies, and #3 in Canada on the www.amazon.ca web site.
She will be talking about the importance of handing on our stories to our children and grandchildren, and answering questions on how to go about writing your memoirs. Mrs. Williams presents a question for us to reflect on before her talk. What was the most meaningful gift you received as a child? Why, when, and where?
The meeting will be in the Small hall, Tuesday October 26th from 10:00 am to noon. All are welcome. R.S.V.P would be appreciated so adequate chairs can be set up. Please call Mary DeDominicis at 905 294 5230 or leave your name on the sign up sheet at the church office.
