Invitation
Jesus invited people into the Good News [John 1:39-41], so we value and commit to sharing the Good News. I live this value when I invite a family member or friend to an Alpha course or St. Patrick's welcoming, spirit-filled masses.
We will know we are becoming a vibrant, loving community who live for God and others when we live the same core values as Jesus lived. When like Jesus, we commit to:
Jesus invited people into the Good News [John 1:39-41], so we value and commit to sharing the Good News. I live this value when I invite a family member or friend to an Alpha course or St. Patrick's welcoming, spirit-filled masses.
Jesus lived in small community [Mark 1:16:8], so we value and commit to relationship. I live this value when I connect with God and others.
Jesus grew in wisdom and favor [Luke 22], so we value growth. I live this value when I take courses that help me grow spiritually.
Jesus was humble [John 13:1-17], so we value and commit to humility. I live this value when I serve out of my gifts.
Our strategy is simple: It is to make disciples – missionary disciples. Disciples that go out and transform the places they live in, work in, play in, and serve in. We are a people on a mission to bring God’s love into the world through a life-changing friendship with Jesus.
We make missionary disciples by creating opportunities for people to meet Jesus and grow in His ways. This is the way of faith. It is a journey. Each leg of the journey invites us deeper into friendship with Jesus. That is why we are using the image of a road to convey our strategy - like the Road to Emmaus. It is in walking, talking, and breaking bread together that we grow in friendship with Jesus and each other.
We make disciples by inviting and accompanying people:
All along the way we praise and glorify God, which we do through daily prayer, inspirational Eucharistic worship, and Catholic devotions. Our focus is to create excellence in worship through planning, alignment, and inspirational homilies that have a clear message and call to action.
Our goal is to get people on the road, and actively journeying and growing together .
Like all Christians, Roman Catholics believe in a Trinitarian God. God is one in Three Persons; The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. We believe The Son came into the world in the historical person of Jesus of Nazareth to enter into a personal friendship with us so that we might discover for ourselves God's personal, endless, and unfailing love for us. This belief comes from the Bible.
We love the Bible. It is the greatest love story ever told - the love between God and humanity. We believe it contains the Living Word of God and has the power to touch and change our minds, hearts and lives. Our Publich Worship, called the Mass, is steeped in the Bible.
When you have a good friend, chances are you know his or her mother and probably appreciate her role in helping your friend be the person he or she is. The Person of Jesus has a mom. While we don't worship her, we feel Mary is very special because she is the Mother of God. In the same way you would ask a family member to pray for you, we ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for us and all who seek her Son, our Lord.
God made us with five senses to see, smell, taste, hear, and touch the world. It is how we encounter others and God. Sacraments are religious ceremonies that allow us to experience God through our senses - to meet the Invisble God through visible signs of His presence. One way God is present to us is in the Eucharist. At Mass the priest takes bread and wine, consecrates it, and we believe it becomes the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ - His Real Presence. You are invited to experience this mystery at our mass.
We're strive hard to live our values and make our community a welcoming, friendly, and joyful place. But we can fall short when we put ourselves before others. If you've ever visited us and felt unwelcome, please come back and let us know. We need your feedback to improve. Don't let us get in the way of your own personal journey and friendship with God. Come back, give us a second chance. We will try our best to make thing right.
